“Fix the bug”, she said. “I will”, I replied.
While I take care of all the issues with this very website, I notice just how much of us is here. Present. In these words, images, videos, letters, ghiblis, and blue links.
This is a digital portal to look back on the time we spent together. And while I might not have done a great job upkeeping or updating it, I’m grateful it exists. That we exist. That we have an extension of us. It’s another branch of us living and breathing together. I believe we left our branches everywhere we went.
These blue links, the pages– they exist in real life too. Places and memories that you think about and you’re instantly there. I can click on a blue link in my head and instantly go to those profi stairs. She’s sitting by the cat as its freezing outside. She’s worried if the cat will be okay, and I told her she would be fine. And the cat was just fine when we saw it next.
I click on a page and it takes me to the small walk to Despar, after the food is ready. We forgot the Coke again. And another page takes me to our endless conversations in that balcony. To our walks on the streets of Transylvania. To the churches and the BnBs and the airports and the hostels.
It is my duty to upkeep this branch too. To keep updating it, and adding to it. To make anything and everything a part of our story, and document it. In my heart, through my ink, and my code.
Branch.
